(Is not making the same choice that we did yesterday).
I was listening to a podcast the other morning. The speaker referred to Joe Dispenza's assertion that:
"The hardest part about change is not making the same choice we made the day before".
Which struck me...
Because we are creatures of comfort.
We dislike change; we hug the shores.
We talk ourselves into all sorts of stagnations and repetitions. And OUT of all sorts of adventures.
Because "Netlix and chill" will always trump swimming upstream...
I'm not glorifying PRODUCTIVITY here. The "change" doesn't have to be a 'get fit project', or a side gig, or a sparkly clean house.
The CHANGE can be more self-kindness and gentler words to oneself.
The CHANGE can be 3 deep breaths, before acting or retaliating.
The CHANGE can be phoning a friend.
And, as Joe says, the "hardest part" is simply choosing something new. Which is not in most people's' nature. (Largely by design, because predictability keeps us safe).
What could you do today, that is different to what you did yesterday?
